I installed XP Pro with SP3 onto my new machine. I was playing AVI files using Media Player with no problems.
I installed the K-Lite mega codec pack and now whenever I get the ffd audio and video icons in the lower right corner I get a 1/2 second video lag behind the audio.
This only occurs when the FFD boxes engage, and I assume this means they are running a codec that needs the ffd programs to run.
Since the files played fine without this ffd, is there a way to turn it off or switch it back to the original default that media player was using before I installed the mega codec pack ?
Thanks for the help
Bill

That is the major drawback of installing codec packs. Try uninstalling the codec pack (which has a 50/50 shot of fixing the problem) and then only install whichever codec(s) you actually need for your files as needed.
