    Hi!
I'm not sure in which section I should post it, so i post here.
I want to downscale a WMV 1920x1080 to 960x540 which is exactly half size (each).
All properties of the video should remain the same, except the bitrate. Bitrate should also cut half from 8000 kbps to 4000 kbps.
So I tried "SUPER video converter". This program just want to convert to 960x544, because 540 isn't divisible by 16.
I tried it with 960x544, but SUPER "lost" some seconds of the video at the end.
I also tried the trial version of "Any Video Converter" - maxmium bitrate for WMV is 768 kbps here........

Is there a video converter out there which can do this job?

    Thank you!
I tried it and it seems that this program could do it.
I never heard of this program.

It is the official Microsoft encoder for WMV, so it should be able to do it, and at far higher quality than SUPER. SUPER's WMV output is shabby at the best of times.

Yeah, I 've done a test now with a 20sec chunk - the output looks really better than from SUPER.

    elliot,

Technically, you should be able to do 1/4 the bitrate since you're using 1/4 the resolution. (1/2 horizontal and 1/2 vertical...)
    Have a good one,

I don't understand why you would want to "destroy" such a wonderful source. OK I can maybe see going from 1080p to 720p if your TV is only 720p and/or file size is THAT important but to go less than 720p seems ... wrong.

With video we tend to strive for the best quality possible and here you are ruining an already quality clip.
