I don't even know what it is.
Could you provide a bit more information?

It's a defunct and no longer updated DVD Authoring program. Use Muxman instead. It always was better anyway. Or, if you want menus, use DVDAuthorGUI (or GUI4DVDAuthor?) in which you can choose to use the Muxman muxing engine. As far as I know, outside of what was included with it, no guides were ever written for DVDPlanner's use.

Here is a link where I downloaded it. Seems powerful and it does say that you can create menus, but I managed only to get one video to play.

I might have downloaded it somewhere else but this link works anyways. -
Was this program created by the user Zeul? If so, how come development stopped?

Like manono says, both DVDAuthorGUI and GUI4DVDAuthor will accept Muxman output, for menu-making. I like DVDAuthorGUI for simplicity as well as versatility, and GUI4DVDAuthor for even more versatility (at the expense of some of that "simplicity"). Both are extremely good & powerful freeware authoring programs. (GUI4DVDAuthor has the Muxman engine built-in). -
I haven't heard of dvdplanner before either. Does dvdplanner offer something special that makes it a better choice for you than the other authoring programs mentioned?
If you need motion menus and can't find an answer to your question, I have used GUI for dvdauthor to make motion menus. From what others have said, DVDAuthorGUI can make them as well, though I haven't used it for that. -
It's an advanced dvd authoring program that allows you to control many features of a dvd, but it is so hard to understand.

The error handling is dreadful. If the author had been able to put more work into error handling it might have been more worthwhile. Without assistance from the wizard, it crashed way too often. It also seems unusually slow when muxing the DVD video.
It does include a help file, and just reading the help file should be enough to allow you to use the wizard. If you need to do something not allowed by the wizard, take my advice and use one of the other freeware solutions instead. Trying to do anything more using this program is a waste of your time.
