Interesting. Below is my HTPC setup but it was taken before that 37" 1080p was RMA'd for a 47". I use it for DCC work as well since the two displays allow me to keep more things visible when working between applications (InDesign in the big monitor for layout and Photoshop/Illustrator in the main LCD). The new PC is being built so I'll have to take a snap next weekend when it's up 8)

My desk, where I spew my propoganda:
20" CRT weighs a ton and takes up too much real estate, but damn it's got a purty pikshur...
that's the ol' lady's desk off to the left...
the 'jukebox' in the basement:
note broken Wii down below...
the HTPC:
with the 36" back-breaker front & center. That dirty mofo ain't moving ever again, I can't believe how much the beast weighs...
X-BOX, PS3, DVD, & receiver to the left - TurboGrafx-16 (!), SNES, N64, GameCube, and a yobo (knock-off NES) below - PC on the right
flash on the camera is quite unflattering to the home theatre... with just the dimmable 35W bulbs in the ceiling cans, the room is nice & dark -- you can't see any of the crap behind or under the set-up."To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." - Steven Wright

Mine is pretty much still the same.

Note- This is actually my second laptop. Before this i had a Dell Inspiron B120, which was nice, but not QUITE as good as my current Vostro 1000. -
Nice rigs guys
I'll have to take some pics this weekend to show off.
@ faustus - I see you have two Western digital usb harddrives. What size? I got mine a few years ago - a 160gb formatted capacity of 149gb. Also - I have the same series logitech speakers. Do you have the 2.1 or 5.1 set? I have the 5.1 analog set that looks like those.Good speakers!!

I didn't know that you can find that greentea drink in Texas. It's that an imported drink ? It's very cheap to get hard drive now. A 750gig hard disk is about $150 and 1 tera is about $170. Those Linksys enclosure is good. -

I've seen the Japanese Lipton bottle too and I'm pretty sure it's nearly identical as well. -
NAS = Netrowk Attached Storage. Basically a drive you plug into your network and everyone can see it.
-
Thanks squirreldip. Is that like a usb/firewire/esata drive that you add to a computer attached to the network then?

Not exactly. I took at old Gateway PIII computer and put a couple of HDDs in it. Install FreeNAS to the small boot drive and then you can set up shares that all computers on the network can see. You just types the server's IP address to access it. It runs through an ethernet connection so it's a lot faster than most other storage devices. Basically the whole computer becomes a storage appliance. You can ever run a RAID configuration in it. You can get some more info on the system at www.freenas.org.

Thanks poppa_meth. I'll take some time later to read up on it. Interesting concept.
