  1. I was wondering if it is possible to send audio out of my USB connection.

Here's what I would like to do (if possible).

I wanna hook a usb cable from my computer to my playstation 3 and make the ps3 think I've connected a microphone.

Then, whatever audio I play, I want to hear it on my PS3. So others can hear it in a voice chat, or something.

    This possible?

I don't believe so. My understanding is that the PS3 usb ports are essentially input only. Now of course with a usb harddrive there is two way action.

i don't think it can stream audio that way from a computer. Why not copy it on a cdr and rip it to the harddrive then?

  3. I wanted to play custom music during some online play. And this was the only way I thought it might be done.

Of couse you could simply use a regular stereo with its own speakers and play it over your headset/mic combo. Anything you use to capture your voice will hear the outside world to some degree. You might have to crank up the music a little and of course won't sound crisp and clear.

  5. There's that option yes, but I don't have a mic.

Guess I'll just have to get one.....
