  1. hi all i have a PC2700U-25330-B1 smart modular 512MB DDR 333 PC2700 CL2.5 RAM chip in my PC, and i want to upgrade to 1G. i saw a RAM chip made from the same compainy. will this chip work with my pc/other ram chip? 512MB 184p PC2100 CL2.5 16c 32x8 DDR DIMM T001, Smart, ACA, SM5646485D8N6CLIBH. do the RAM chip have to be the same?

    You have not provided any details in your profile about your motherboard etc.

    Generally, the chips should work together but sometimes boards use proprietory memory and that is when the problems start.

    If they do work together then your PC2700 memory will perform like PC2100 memory.

    PC2700 is sometimes backwards compatible. I'd go to www.oempcworld.com and verify were it mine. You'll get the correct RAM, and $3.95 shipping.
