Hello, I have a JVC (GZ-MG142EK)camcorder and I have tried to copy from the camcorder to a DVD (using a laptop with Operating System Vista) using the Power Cinema Software supplied but it is slow and painstaking and I couldn't copy very much at all onto a DVD. I have copied the files onto the hard drive and can view them but there is no sound - they burn onto a dvd no problem but not much good without the sound. Can anyone help? All I want to do is copy what I have filmed to a DVD in the easiest fashion. Also is there a specific type of DVD to use DVD+R or DVD-R? Many many thanks for any help!!! I need step by step instructions as I'm not very good at this!!

Sorry - I am really bad at all of this - there was a manual but I have mislaid it - but I have been able to burn to a DVD using the software supplied (with the tutorial). This was very slow and only burned a few files ( I would need about 20 DVD's for my holiday stuff) I have no idea what the format, container, Video and Audio codecs are in fact this is double dutch to me.... I use a computer at work (word, excel etc) and I only got a laptop because I had bought a hard drive camcorder. I desperately need a step by step guide on how to copy to the hard drive (keeping the sound) and then burn to a DVD. Sorry for being so stoopid!!

What is the filenames of the files you have copied? .mod .moi? Then use tmpgenc dvd author to import those and make a new dvd.

After you made the first dvd use a dvd copier tool like imgburn to make new copies from the first dvd.

Hello again - I just tried to download tmpgenc dvd author (trial) and I got the message "error reading set up initialisation file" ? I was hoping that someone with this camera could talk me through the process of burning DVD's quickly and simply???? I am just a (computer and camcorder inexperienced) mammy who wants memories of her kids .........

When did you receive that error message? When you tried install latest tda? Try google for that error message and see if you can find any solutions.

If you can get tda to work it's probably easiest. Or else you can try other software like ulead dvd moviefactory, nerovision, convertxtodvd (see our tools list for all-in-one dvd converters)

And you wont find one solution that work for everyone...all computers are different. The easiest method is probably to get a dvd camcorder or dv camcorder and dvd recorder with dvrecording mode.
