  2. Hi !!

    Thanks.

But for new hard protected dvd's I think dvd2one can't handle it properly like Anydvd does in PC's OS. And the MacTheRipper tool is not too old for handle new protected dvd's? :P

Do you know other program for Mac besides dvd2one for Mac which can handle new dvd protections?

    Thanks again for your help.

The older, free version of MTR will not handle the newest forms of anticopy protection. However, the newest shareware version probably does.

There are no free Mac-based rippers that will handle the latest forms.

DTOX (DVDtoOneX) will happily shrink a "main feature" rip. If
you want to get a full-disc copy, I suggest Toast. It will compress
and burn (or save as an image).

Yes MTR 3.0r14m (the latest now) will rip almost all the new and
nasty protection schemes. As new schemes appear, MTR is updated
to cope. One "gift" is all you need make to ensure updates for life.

MacTheRipper and DVD2OneX are the ones to use. I'm not sure how happily the software does these things but I know I'm happy.

...MTR... the newest shareware version probably does (handle new dvd protections).
1- Where I can found/buy the newest and payware version for MacTheRipper?

2- Can you tell me which paywares programs (not freewares) can handle the newest dvd protections, just like Anydvd does in PC environment? Point me 2 or more of them, please.

I'll buy some one of those programs to use in my personal home Mac.

    Thanks.

    best regards.

    TO Handle newest DVD Protections,
the best choice as far as ripping goes is Mac The Ripper.
    (already mentioned)

For shrinking, DVD2OneX (http://www.dvd2one.com) will handle the majority of
your Factory DL disc to store bought SL Disc conversions, if you want 1:1
Dual Layer Disc conversions, purchase Toast Titanium ( http://www.roxio.com)
to burn straight to DL media the output of Mac The Ripper.

Popcorn 3 is also an alternative to DVD2OneX (http://www.roxio.com) but
isn't as robust at a solution ( MTR & Popcorn 3 ) as the method
90% of all Mac users implement ( MTR & DVD2ONEX), as it
often has problems with newer implentations of ArCCoss, Ripguard,
and Puppetlock used by the movie studios.

I would be wary of the xilisoft and imtoo sites. Here are two
articles that you should maybe read:

This guy seems to be a troll.

I am not going to waste my time suggesting the same thing as everyone else and he just ignores it.

  13. Beware DVD copying software because unless you go with well-known applications (which are, for the most part, free), you’re likely to pay for something held together with spit and duct tape

And you can see how that might be a problem.

Regardless, this entry was prompted by reader Victor, who (mostly) wrote:

Do you know anything about [website name], makers of [DVD copying application for Macintosh]?

And while I’ve taken care to not name names, I can respond, in a very general way, that unless the software’s name is Handbrake or MacTheRipper and its intended purpose is to strip DVDs of their copy protection so that you can make a back-up copy or convert the DVD to a form playable on your iPod, iPhone, computer, or Apple TV, you would be well advised to avoid it. It’s like this:

People the world over want to archive their DVDs. The less technical among them are unaware of tools like Handbrake and MacTheRipper and so do what anyone wanting information on Subject X does. They hit Google and enter a search phrase such as “DVD copy Mac.”

And when they do, they find entry after entry for moderately priced tools that purport to copy DVDs. Invariably the website selling this stuff is fairly generic as is the software’s “box art.” Glance at the website and, dollars-to-doughnuts, you’ll discover a good half-dozen ripping/encrypting tools for sale. (You also find that none of these half-dozen applications are listed by such reputable software sites as VersionTracker and MacUpdate.) Dig a little deeper—read the contact info, for example—and you’ll encounter the finest phrases Chinglish has to offer.

I’ve taken the time to dash about the web collecting the feedback I can find on such software and the results are anything but encouraging. Applications are half-baked, support non-existent, and refunds? It is to laugh.

(And no, of course I’m not talking about tools from Roxio or Techspanion’s Visual Hub, which are designed to work with unprotected DVDs and other media.)

So yes, Victor, I do know something about [website name], makers of [DVD copying application for Macintosh].

    Stay away.
    Hi !!

Oh, thanks for advice us all !! :P

I had subcribed me in MacTheRipper 's forum and keeping some actions to paying for that program as you suggest me. I'll take a look at Popcorn, DVD2oneX and Toast too. :P

    Best regards, people ! :P

    Thanks a lot.
