    Is there a way to find the hard drive serial # instead of opening the computer and taking the HD out. Is there a program out there that will show you the serial #. Thanks

    Sorry didn't work, it said no serial #. I guess i need to open the PC, thanks for the help.

    control panel>system, select the 'hardware' tab>device manager, expand 'disk drives' then right click on the hdd in question. select properties then click the 'details' tab. from the drop down box select 'hardware ids'

    This will give you the model#, not the serial#.
    To get the serial# (as well as other usefull info) I use a utility called HD Tune: http://www.hdtune.com/download.html
