Hi,
Unfortunately, when I'm recording from a PAL widescreen source (I'm in the UK) what I get is a video file which only plays in 4:3 format.
i.e. the video is played, but is too tall.
I have tried re-encoding the file to mpeg2 with a 16:9 flag in nero vision 4, but unfortunatley the file is still 4:3
What I'd like is a video file which will just play in widescreen format on my PC.
Ideally, I'd like a quick fix to flag the MP4 file as a 16:9 format, without re-encoding, is this possible?
This is a great device except for this problem, any suggestions?
Cheers.

Your video source has to carry the 16:9 flag to the device. If it does, it will play back in the correct aspect ratio in VLC (www.videolan.org).
