  1. Hi,

    Unfortunately, when I'm recording from a PAL widescreen source (I'm in the UK) what I get is a video file which only plays in 4:3 format.

    i.e. the video is played, but is too tall.

    I have tried re-encoding the file to mpeg2 with a 16:9 flag in nero vision 4, but unfortunatley the file is still 4:3

    What I'd like is a video file which will just play in widescreen format on my PC.

    Ideally, I'd like a quick fix to flag the MP4 file as a 16:9 format, without re-encoding, is this possible?

    This is a great device except for this problem, any suggestions?

    Your video source has to carry the 16:9 flag to the device. If it does, it will play back in the correct aspect ratio in VLC (www.videolan.org).
