Hi mymonaro ... How are you ?... God Bless you..
till now useles to make STB able to view videos with trp - converted -...
no preblem I am waiting & searching better STB , or newly developed..., I am reading and asking about : dreambox-800HD-PVR , & Q-box , Azbox , Captiveworks-CW4000HD , and others , and discussed with some friends in some forums...
now I bring a simple STB .. it is : Starcom1000hd ( all STB-s I tested was not buying it but I have a relation with Merchant importing STB and every a few days I take a new one comes in the market and I study a check it to now all features and how its features good or bad ...,
now I am asking for a converter from FLV to : ( TS ) which is the best that does not increase the size of video file to exaggerated size I mean not 3 or 4 times than origin size.. this make the hard full with less records...and STB Unable to load the full hard especially simple STB , ( except best quality such as dream box & etc..) , Now I am using : ( Total Video Converter ) ...
so if you have one please give me the link for that ...
    Thankyou ...
    Regards...

    Hello Sam,

I am fine thanks. How are you?

I know of two programs which will convert to TS file format, but I can not make a comment about the file size and I have not run a test of converting flv to TS. Let me know when you try the programs out.

To convert to ts file format the QuickMedia Converter program will do the job (the same program which I refer to in earlier posts in this thread: http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/

    Another program is: http://www.easy-video-converter.com/

I have been using this program recently to edit videos (removing short segments from the original video). I like this program, but it could be improved by some extra editing features/options.

Both programs are freeware. Whereas, Total Video Converter is not freeware, I tend to recall this when I was searching extensively a few weeks ago for video conversion programs.

Good luck, let me know how things work out.

    Hi all

Just got a DGTEC DG-HD0211 set top box from DSE for $99 & has a USB slot etc

Well the same old story the FORMAT is in TRP

my set top box has - .trp .idx .ifo FILES when i record off tv BUT the .trp & .idx are in the FOLDER & .ifo is in the MAIN ROOT

also the FOLDER has the ICON ~ at the start of the file name eg: ~METALLICA ONE

So I followed the Instructions & put the files in the right places & added ~ at the start of the folder name

when I scroll over the FILES I recorded off the TV its shows MB's etc BUT when I scroll over the FILE I create it has no MB ZERO

then tries to LOAD but freezes & wont play

does anyone else have this problem ??????

    cheers

p.s. also if I leave the ICON ~ out its says file to short in length to play (gotta be longer then 60 sec) so I have almost got it going might be something simple

As I do not have the same stb as you, sorry but I can not comment about the brand of box.

However, I am curious, I am not clear where your problem is; are you wanting to play the stb recorded program on your computer, or wanting to play a computer generated file/s on your stb?

thanks your instructions where great but my STB keeps freezing & wont play the file or if I dont add ~ it says file to small to play

    Okay, thanks for the update.

Just out of interest, were you converting your computer files to "trp format" using the instructions which I had posted in earlier posts?

    YES

But to get it to play/freeze U gotta put ~ in the folders name EG: ~Metallica One

or if it like this EG: Metallica One says file not long enough to play

my USB look like this when i record something:

    TimeShift (folder empty)

    RESCUE SPECIAL OPS -RPT.ifo

    ~RESCUE SPECIAL OPS -RPT (folder)
    RESCUE SPECIAL OPS -RPT00.trp
    RESCUE SPECIAL OPS -RPT.idx

.trp & .idx are in the folder

ClarkeTech Movie Converter v1.01 just converted *. TRP and *. IFO but why IDX File, File IDF, RAP File and file type Microsoft Office Access Add-in is not created, while the movie plays in the STB to require all such extensions
