MP3 batch converter wanted...

im wanting to convert all my mp3's to lower bitrates
most of them are 320Kbps and I would like to down them all to 128Kbps to save space

is there a good program for the job that will do em all as BATCH?

Just be aware that any conversion from mp3-mp3 is not going to sound very good.

I'd use WinAmp with the LAME out plug-in or The Godfather if I wanted to crunch a bunch of MP3s. Not because they're the best, but because that's what I've got.

dbpoweramp is the best option, as it supports conversion by plugins so it will convert virtually anything to anything and supports decent batch conversion

Yes, it isn't free to get the top reference release, but I've been using it for literally years and its always been better than others I have tried in the past


Bear in mind, converting an MP3 to a lower quality MP3 will reduce the sound quality even further than converting to an MP3's has already
