    As the title sugests

My LCD LG 19"monitor goes black for a few seconds when I do different things
such as "right click copy/cut" then screen goes black when it comes back (1 or 2 sec later)
I then select "right click paste" and we get a black screen again. the job gets done, its just a black screen in between.
Another thing if I use edit : copy/cut/paste the above does not happen....

also has happened when clicking on an icon in the task bar
    also at other random times.

what Ive done to try and fix this.

    updated Nvida drivers
    refresh rate at 60hz
screen at 1280x1024(recommended for this LCD).

    any ideas anybody?

    thanks O

I have an HP at work that exhibits similar behaviour. Haven't found an answer yet (although to be honest, I haven't looked too hard - it don't use it every day)

sounds like a really old install of windows and explorer.exe taking forever to update. try having task manager open and watching what process is using all the cpu cycles. control alt del/processes/double click cpu tab to bring up the highest cpu users.

  5. Next time it goes black, shine a flash light at an angle on the screen and look closely to see if the desktop is visible.
