Hello, I've extracted my copy of American Pie 2 with smartripper. ripped the movie portion with only 1 audio stream with IfoEdit. added the vts_01_*.vob/ifo/bup files + 02,03,04 back into the folder and ran the "Get VTS" from IfoEdit to make needed corrections. and got it to play when opening video_ts.ifo in PowerDVD4.
when I go to burn this directory with PrimoDVD, it immediately pops-up and says "job terminated with errors". I've successfully burned just the movie portion before, but wanted to try and keep the opening menu. I've read in a guide somewhere that when the video_ts folder is invalid or has some errors in it primo will catch that and give you an error message. the author of the guide said he wished it would be more descriptive with what the error was. I see exactly what he means.
is there a way to validate the contents of your video_ts folder to test if it is compliant? thanks for any help, this is driving me nuts!!!

You keep saying video_ts it should be VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders, all caps, yes you need both, even the empty AUDIO_TS folder.
Using Power DVD to validate something doesn't mean anything, Power DVD will play Divx files, does this mean dixv plays on your DVD
Primo DVD does validate your files, that's why you got an error. -
my bad, I have and should have typed VIDEO_TS.
the reason that I mentioned being able to play in PowerDVD was that it took me a while to figure out what other parts i needed to add in for the DVD to play, i needed to add VTS_01_0.IFO,VTS_01_0.BUP,VTS_01_0.VOB plus I also had to add VTS_02_*, VTS_03_*, and VTS_04_*. my movie is in VTS_06_*
I assumed (more like guessed) that once I added the other files and got it to play in PowerDVD that I would have had a structure ready to burn.
you hit upon exactly what I was looking to try and figure out. Primo caught my errors, but I don't know how to tell what the errors are and how to correct them. that's what I was looking for some help for.
I just realized that this thread would be more appropriate in the Authoring and Burning forum. I may try and clean up my point and post a thread there. please respond if you have any suggestions. thanks for replying -
Since your VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders are labled correct, it could be a problem with IFOedit.
That forum is a mess with bug reports.
Why not just use Smart Ripper to rip the video stream, and audio stream of your choice, input into Spruce Up, or DVD it. Sure you may have to add your own chapter points (chapter extractor) and menu screens (hit the capture button in Power DVD), but it sure as hell beats tracking down bugs.
I've yet to have Spruce up or DVD it fail in creating a propperly structered DVD. -
Hey disturbed -0 how do you put into spruce after you have ripped the vob please ??
Thanks

Why do you have to have the dir's in caps does that actually make a difference?
