    Hi.
Yesterday i tried to hardsub one of my avi file with subtitle workshop. virturaldubmod, virtualdub subtitle filter and divx5 codec. The result is quite sastificing. But today for some reason i can not see the softsub when i play with my storm codecc. I´ve doublecheck the file´s namne, they are all correctly typed. There are not any problems at all while play an avi file with softsub before. Some of the movie have the same text but double instead.

I´ve removed subtitle workshop and others but still without good results. Anyones have any ideas how i can solve this problem. Please guide me so my computer can run normally. Thanks

Thanks for help. I´ll remember next time about the topic.

Just found out that the movie´s file that i want to watch it has the ending like this filename.avi. But when i open with media player classic it change to (filename.avi.avi) and my srt file only ends with (filename.srt). That´s why i can´t see the softsub.

Any ideas why media classic acts like this. Thanks

That's because you have the option "hide extension for known file tyes" (Dölj filnamnstillägg för kända filtyper) i Folder Options/Mappalternativ.Windows Explorer is hiding the last ".avi", but mpc shows it. Disable that very stupid Windows default, so you see what file types you're dealing with.

Never mind. I found it and problem is solved. As you said that is really a very stupid default setting. Anyway thanks again.
