Trouble rendering video with Vegas

I received a copy of Vegas Pro over Christmas and have been happily playing with it and editing videos for the last few months. Today I tried to render my first video, and no matter which output format I choose (MPG1, MPG2, AVI, WMV, etc), the resulting video is always a plain white screen. I can still hear the audio, but the video is just blank. My project previews just fine inside of Vegas. Any ideas what could be wrong?

if it's not a retail version there may be nothing you can do. if it's the real retail version that has been registered to you then you may have a problem. render a video under 5 mbs and post it here for us to look over.

it is/was retail. i don't have the box but still have the book and all that. i'm wondering if this could be a problem with my project or video file properties or a problem with the install? i'll whip up a sample video soon (the software is on another comp).
