Where and how would I find out the needed codec, I've download it and opened the specific file, but I don't know what to do next..

I press 'Vid: 1' and it says 'GSpot isn't capable of attempting to render this video type', it says the same with 'Aud:1 ' and suggests using the MS A/V button but that says ''Rendering Failed: Following is the error shown by DirextShow - 0xc00d0bbe: [unknown]

    ?

I am reading your first post, and it looks like you are saying that your original file is a .wav file. Is that correct? Wav is an audio format only.

if you have any windows media player higher than 7 installed it should play. if it doesn't it may just be a bad video file. one thing you could try - installing this ms "helper" codec, it might work.

Yep.Is it a possibility that it won't convert because it is protected by Digital Rights Management?

possible, google remove drm from wmv and you might get a few hits, but unless it's something you purchased and have the "key" to it's not likely you can convert it.
