  1. ok when I use vdub to capture i always get some sort of lines in the video when there are sudden movements. i tried different codecs and reolutions but i usaually get some sort of lines during scenes with sudden movements.

but when i capture winvcr(windvr) i get no lines.

i know both programs use different output formats
winvcr captures to mpeg1 and mpeg2 while virtdub captures to avi

i like winvcr but it doesnt give me custom resolutions like virtdub..thatz why i wanna use virtdub

so is it my virtdub settings/codecs that cause the lines.

  2. I use the deinterlace filter, with the default settings and it works for me every time, not sure what you do with the AVI, but I use Frameserve to TMPGEnc, sometimes with Panasonic Encoder, but I do Catpure at 352x480, resize to 352x240 with the VirtualDub resize filter, then Frameserve to TMPGEnc. I get what I want and that is a VERY GOOD VCD. You will have to play with the settings and use what works for YOU and YOUR system.
