    Hi All,

Help! I had lost precious footage of my daughter's 3rd birthday after dropping my sony handycam. Mini dvd-r was not finalized. And, the disc is now reading as blank by any program on my PC (playback or burning software). Also, the disc is not recognized when i insert it into the camcorder back. Is any tool that can help me ? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Try IsoBuster. There's a good chance you can recover your video with it.

Unfortunately, IsoBuster hung up my system when trying to read my dvd-r. I typed 'dvd video recovery' at Google and found another tool, CD Roller. And, it worked! I used their Recover DVD Video and Split Video.

  5. I realize this is a bit late, but maybe others can gain from my experience with CDRoller.
I'd done an interview on a Samsung DVD Camcorder 171i, and wasn't able to finalize the disc for some reason, and therefore couldn't read the disc on any machine afterwards, nor the camcorder itself! I scanned the internet for solutions and found three or four different programs claiming the could do the job, i.e. read the disc and make the recording accesible again.
CDRoller seemed most straigthforward, and really was, and did the job: It found the data and made the VOB files accesible. At first I had some trouble, and tried on several computers with DVD drives with no luck. Then I tried on a computer with a DVD RW drive, and voila, in no time my interview was rescued!

I'm certain, that other programs can help in similar ways, but what really impressed me was the service provided by the CDRoller staff: I did my interview on a saturday, was desparate to get my interview back, purchased the program, tried to work it out but had some trouble. Therefore I mailed the CDRoller staff late night the same day with my issues, and got a response early sunday morning!
