What does "Error while decoding" mean?

Using WinFF I've noticed I get an "error while decoding stream #0.0" etc. sometimes, yet the resulting video seems to play fine.

What does this mean?

It doesn't specify. Just says Error while decoding stream.

Usually 'stream' refers to audio, that's why I mentioned it. Not really that familiar with WinFF.

You might try opening the file in VirtualDub Mod and check the streams. There may be more than one. VDM can delete extra streams that you don't need. Then you can use 'Full processing mode' to save out the audio file and convert it to a different format.

Another possibility is MP3 VBR audio. It can cause problems. VDM will tell you if it's there. It can be difficult to decode.

This is usual when you have a broken stream. When I grab internet TV stations to asf format and load the stream on virtualdub (patched to accept asf) sometimes I have this problem. Same times i just move the slide a bit and no problem, sometimes the whole stream capture is useless.
Avidemux sometimes is capable to "save" the video, but not the audio. Overall it seems to work better virtualdub on this.
