computer crashing because of c++ visual 2005 redistributable

I have just recently installed Microsoft visual c++ redistributable and web root spy sweeper. And since then, my system has been crashing constantly. Before i was running completely smoothly. It wouldn't even allow me to run windows update, and have now blocked access to my favorites. Thats right, may favorites has like a brown covering over it, and when i go to check the favorites folder, the folder isn't even their. I tried to restore to a previous point, but that just removed some much needed files, so i had to restore back to the previous installation.

Has anybody encountered what im going through....what should i do, where should i start.....holla back

I'd be amazed if the MSVC 2005 redistributable was causing it unless your system was already infected/compromised by something. In absence of that, I'd point the finger at the other software that you installed especially given the symptoms.

Have you tried uninstalling both?

try just installing c++ see if that works.

I'm gonna reformat tonight, i backed up the drivers using driver magician long before this happened, so they should no be corrupted........
