Here we go. Five people in Ohio have been sued for downloading movies on BitComet, KaZaA and iMesh.
The RIAA sued 30,000 music downloader's. Are you afraid?

Because I can go buy a refurbished used CD for $4.Guranteed to play and not skip. Rip it and put it away in its case. My brother has amassed quite a collection doing this. I'm getting to the age now I don't buy music anymore anyhow. I have everything I want...

a lot of issues most audiophiles have with itunes and the like is the bitrate, quality and format used on the files provided.

you give me a 320 mp3 , sure I will be there. You give me an mp3 at 192 or less or wma format, no thanks

I'll never pay for an mp3 or any other lossy format at any bitrate.....
If i'm gonna pay $1.00 a song i'll either buy the original used, like thecoalman or at a store brand new if i can't find it used, and make my own mp3 if i want one and still have the original cd 8)

I can't tell much difference between 192 or 128 or WMA or MP3... couse my ears probably aren't in the best shape...

I've read few comparison between MP3 and WMA, most came to the conclusion they were pretty close at higher bitrates however once you get into really low bitrates WMA leaves MP3 in the dust. Only really suitable for application such as where that file is used, its made for a streaming "radio". 56k user can still listen and surf... and its really not that bad.

You might notice a lot of distortion using a bitrate like that when you get a lot of high pitched sounds, cymbals and the snare drum seem to cause it a lot.

Used CD shops are AWESOME and my preferred shopping choice but quite a few people live in the "boonies" where a shop like that is hard to find.
