Hi...I've been doing conversions for a long time now, but this is my first time putting videos on my phone. I can accept 3GP or MP4 and so far, the fastest method I've used is (With Super) 3GP with MPEG4 768K Video and AAC 128K Audio. I could probably reduce that to 96K, but I'd rather not. It still takes around 20 minutes for a 45 minute video. I'm trying to cut that conversion time down without loss in quality. I need at least "good" quality with 1/3 runtime for the conversion (so 15 mins for 45 min video), less conversion time and "better" quality if possible.

Any settings or software suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

Get a faster computer? Nothing affects encoding times like CPU speed. I use 3GP Converter, but have no idea how fast or slow it is, as quality is my top priority, and 15 or 20 minutes doesn't matter in the least to me...

768k, I thnk your way out on over kill, what is the resolution of the display, and what FPS are you using, 320*240 can give great results at under 336k video rate, and 15 fps, most phones won't even play 758k video, unless your FPS is 10 or less ? a lower bit rate will also speed up your conversion process, but memory and CPU are the main considerations for gaining speed

check these out, these are conversion samples used to show the results of various FPS & bit rate combinations

Thank you for the suggestion. I'll try out the lower frame and bit rates. Any more suggestions are still appreciated of course
