Hey once again all,
I was recently over at a friend of a friends place. He has all his tv equipment (receiver, dvd, etc, etc) all in the closet in another room. He simply has a little IR receiver on top of his tv, uses a universal remote, and controls everything like his equipment is in the room. He also mentioned that he heard there is now a bluetooth version available.
Now, I dont know the person very well so I felt uncomfy asking a bunch of questions. So, here I am.
Are these units reliable? Are they costly I cant seem to find much. I found one at Future Shop for $55 but it didnt get very good user reviews (to say the least).

use a urc remote control with the base station -- a mx850 or 900 with a 350 base station is the best combination .... you dont need the IR "eye" in such case ..
reliability is extremely good -- logitech remotes are crap , RTI has some good remotes also."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650)
