So the TV in the condo where I moved in is a giant hulking monster thats about 400 pounds and like 3 feet deep. The sound and video stick because the system is very old...
I want to buy a new TV(HD) and an audio system to go with it. I thought I could save some space in my place as well was upgrade the audio and the video. I just don't know a lot about which TVs are good and which are not. I'd prefer to have wall mounting speakers and I'd like the TV to be at least 30 inches.
I'm also kind of looking for something relatively affordable. I'd like to get both systems for $1,300 if it can be done.
I was just hoping since you guys know a lot about this stuff that I could get some good recommendations.
Thanks!

Maybe about $1000US for a 32" - 40" Samsung or Panasonic LCD TV and about $250US for a surround sound amplifier with speakers. Shop around and you might find some better deals. I would definitely recommend a surround sound system if you plan to view newer DVDs.
The AVS forum might be one place to look around: http://www.avsforum.com/
