  1. Hi,

I create DVD as a hobby, basically I download a show / series and create a DVD of that show for my collection. I'm pretty happy with my collection but after I got my PS3 and my HDTV, I got quite sad that my DVD's aren't as clear as they were supposed to be .

I'm kinda used with the TMPGenc method of creating a DVD, but I don't think its gonna cut it in creating HD DVD's for now. Is there any guide or some sort of software that would give the videos that I want to create a DVD of the clarity of HD DVDs?

    Thanks!

If you are downloading 350MB episodes then you will not get them looking any better than they are. Most downloads are over compressed to fit into arbitrary and out of date file size limitations, and are therefore only of mediocre quality to begin with.

  3. Yep, nothing like getting an HDTV to make you realize just how crappy most of the AVIs out there are, whether they're played as AVI or (worse) converted to DVD.

Not to mention that even with a good source a standard DVD will never look as good as a Hi-Def video can. DVDs just don't have the resolution of Hi-Def.
