I rarely burn ISO files, but never had any problems until I tried doing it on a new Vista machine.

The approx 700 Mb iso files downloaded fine, but when I stuck a CD into the Tosh's drive, it was 'prepped' and I couldn't find any selection to burn an ISO, so I just copied it for transfer to my workhorse machine. On ejection, there was another delay, while it was closed 'so it could be used on other computers.'
    Not.
I was unpleasantly surprised that while the CD showed as full, no icon or filename could be recovered.

Checked the file itself by copying it to a flash drive, sticking it on the old machine, and burning the iso- everything is fine with the file, it works fine.

So... can anybody recommend a link or whatever that disc cusses Vista and burning image files?

Use IMGBurn to burn iso files in Vista. No problems here whatsoever.

    Thanks SanderMan, will try IMGBurn...

...but still want to know why my Vista-burned CDs don't show any files on'em, it just makes coasters.

Try disabling the CD autorun feature so that only your third party burning application do the job. Never, Never let Vista burn a CD for you.

Remember, Vista is a piece of crap, because of this, it does crappy burning jobs.
