I got a couple of AVI files I want to join together. I don't want to lose the quality, and I was wondering if there was a good program that can join the files besides vdub. All i need is to combine those AVI files into one and that's it.

What's wrong with vdub? Do you receive any error msg when you open or try append the video?

Remember that all avi files must have same properties if you want to join without reconverting(=lose quality).

my problem with vdub is i'm trying to add a 10 sec clip to it and even though it was converted from wmv to avi using the same codec and etc, it comes on the sampling rate error. this 10 sec clip I can see is working on some but on this one it doesn't work. I am wondering if there is a way to automatically configure them two to be the same...

I'm looking to somehow join 2 avi with AVI demux.

I can't figured it out, it outputs a file with no extension. So its not playable. I have it set to copy video and audio and under format it says AVI.

When I hit save video it ask me to where I choose destination but underneath where normally you would see an extension its blank. It says all files.

Can someone please point me in the right direction.

    Thanks!

When saving i have always had to manually add ".avi" after typing in the name of the file.

If you already saved it without the ".avi" extension just add it to the end after the name in the folder it was saved to.

But they must also both be the EXACT same specs, resolution, format, etc., video and audio.

Sorry I figured it out. When saving you have to add .avi to the title. My brain wasn't thinking.

As you've already had the target format set to AVI, just rename the file with no extension to add the .AVI extension.

AVIDemux doesn't add the extension to the filename, so you have to manually add the extension when you specify the output filename.

Edit: Gah, everyone's faster than me. That's what I get for going back to edit that second sentence, and taking my time. :P

Sorry? Nah, I do that frequently. It's called brainfart by the pros.
