-
any format that a normal dvd player can play but it would be better if it's mp3 or wav
-
any program to convert avi to avi and convert AC3 audio in the process to mp3 or wav??

ps that mean no demuxing it
-
What video format is in the avi (divx, mpeg4, etc.) ?Originally Posted by projecttemp
If you want to batch convert then contain all avi's the same video format ?

I (have to) assume that you don't want to re-encode the video stream. Convert can mean anything.

avi divx and yes i DON"T want to demux the audio and video then convert AC3 to wav(which i know how but i dont want to do it for 30 eps) then put them back together, it just too time taking

ps how can i reduce the wav file size after i convert it from AC3??? cuz the AC3 file turn from 235mb to 807 mb O_O

ps2 here the media info, i think that would help much more

Avanti can do this.Originally Posted by projecttemp

To try it on one file first:

 1. Load the file on "Source 1"
 2. Set a path and name for the resulting file at "Destination".
 3. At the "Destination audio settings" make your audio settings (I recommend mp3, not wav).
 4. At the "User VIDEO options" command line add the FFmpeg command -vcodec copy
 5. Press "Start process"

If this works, then take a look at the "Job control manager" to do the trick in batch.

EDIT: also ensure that the "Force FourCC to" field is set to DIVX (or better to "Default" to keep it DIVX 5).

does it have an internal AC3 decoder?? i will try it tomorrow
 did u make the program??
-
	1. Yes! It uses FFmpeg which can decode ac3 (to 2 channels).Originally Posted by projecttemp
 2. Yes, I did.

You better convert directly to mp3.ps how can i reduce the wav file size after i convert it from AC3??? cuz the AC3 file turn from 235mb to 807 mb"
Also see edit in my previous post. I have no experience with FFmpeg vs. DIVX 5.

fail, not working i waited for like 30 min and still it said

11:14:11 - Checking file paths and basic settings ...
-
You don't have to wait that long. It should come up within a few seconds. Just try to cancel.Originally Posted by projecttemp

 Questions:

 1. when you loaded the avi, did you get the file info on the blue screen?
 2. are all your avi's divx5 ? If not, try another one.

You should at least get some error message.
-
If you get the file "properties" when you load a file, this means that the Avanti/FFmpeg combo works properly.Originally Posted by projecttemp

I've tried to force the situation you describe where the program hangs or cancels silently with
"Checking file paths and basic settings ..." and only could reach that if I give a unwritable destination
path like a DVD drive (I will check that in a future version).

There are over 7000 downloads of the package and nobody so far complaint that the program
did absolutely nothing? Must be something in your setup or perhaps a Vista problem?

Only thing I can advice for now is to try something common. Load a avi file, load a template like
e.g. UNI_FLASH_HQ and see if this starts a conversion.

Based on a previous post, it seems that projecttemp is dealing with Ogg containers. Perhaps your program does not handle this unusual (I'm not knocking Ogg at all, but it's not exactly common) container format. Then again, based on some of the other posts, I wouldn't rule out user error either.Originally Posted by Chris K

O_O now then can u get me a program to demux the audio and video and remux them ??? (virtualdub fail)
-
Yes I've also noticed that in the screenshot. But if the OP says he gets the source properties (they are given by FFmpeg) then it looks like FFmpeg can read the file. Although it also, happens that FFmpeg can read a source but says that it is (partly) unsupported. E.g. unknown/unsupported audio format.Originally Posted by jman98
The OP should carefully read what is reported when he load the file.
-
Looking at the file properties you posted given by media info, there's also a subtitle stream in the file.Originally Posted by projecttemp
I studied the ogg container the passed few days and found that FFmpeg only allows to encode it with
ogg theora video and ogg vorbis audio. I suppose that's what it officially meant for?
Your file contains divx5 and ac3. I don't know of any software that can demux it.
If you have a software player on your computer that can play it, just keep it the way it is.
-
	Some suggestions that might help?

 OGM to AVI
 ogmdemuxer

Look on the left at "Tools" for more.

	what about this file then??
