I am currently looking to record matches played on my xbox360 for Gamebattles/MLG. I don't believe I have an open slot for any sort of external capture card so I was looking at something like the Dazzle. My problem however is that I do not play xbox through my TV, I play my xbox on my computer monitor with a VGA hookup and then my computer is connected with DVI. Is there anyway I can capture my games while playing through my computer monitor?

You would need a VGA to composite box like this.

Then you would record the composite video to a VCR or computer capture card.

    Don't expect good quality.

Are there any other ways I could use my monitor with lets say a good Dazzle and get decent quality? Or if i used S-Video rather than the composite video

The XBox360 doesn't output VGA and composite/s-video at the same time. You would need to run the game to SD composite video (TV set and/or capture card).

Yes, but would using an s-video cable from the converter output to the Dazzle make the quality of the capture any better than if I used the composite video? Also will using the converter affect the quality of my picture while playing xbox?

That particular box allows you to run VGA to 1024x768 but will output low quality NTSC composite video.

How much money do you have to throw at this?

Well I found the Dazzle Platinum for about $50, so in total I'm hoping not to spend any more than $150. I am not looking for anything special but I do want it to look decent with a nice fps. An output like this video would be fine: http://gameroom.gamebattles.com/view/fLwckMbBIcI.html
