  1. Hi,
I'd like to know if there is a way to render directly from Vegas to a Flash video?
    Thanks

YES YOU CAN, I just did it and it works.

Goto render as, then go MainConcept AVC/AAC
Then set your output video settings
Now, when name your file, put (.flv) at the end of your name
    then save it.

well you can call just about anything .flv and it might play. h264/aac is a new(12/07) addition to the list of allowed codecs. the old standard h263/mp3 is what most think of as .flv

I guess you can use Debugmode Frameserver http://www.debugmode.com/frameserver/
and feed the dummy .AVI into your favorite FLV encoder.

  6. Thanks for the help.
I tried Timmychuck's trick before Soopafresh posted, and it worked.

  7. Now I also tried Soopafresh's trick, using Vegas 8, Debugmode Frameserver and Adobe Flash Video Encoder, and it work perfectly!
    Thanks for the great help.

  8. There seems to be a misconception of what a .FLV is.

In the bad old days, you'd have to use actual FLV file format.

Nowdays, assuming the user has a recent build of Flash Player (9.0 Update 3)...

"You can load and play .mp4,.m4v,.m4a,.mov and .3gp files using the same NetStream API you use to load FLV files now. We did not add any sort of new API in the Flash Player. All your existing video playback front ends will work as they are. As long as they do not look at the file extension that is, though renaming the files to use the .flv file extension might help your component. The Flash Player itself does not care about file extensions, you can feed it .txt files for all it matters. The Flash Player always looks inside the file to determine what type of file it is." - source http://www.kaourantin.net/2007/08/what-just-happened-to-video-on-web_20.html (Adobe Flash Player architect)

I am building a video site and we are simply leapfrogging the rest of file formats and going straight to h.264 thanks to the hardware-assisted rendering hardware that is currently available. From that perspective, Vegas renders into flash-playable files just fine.

I personally can't wait until RapiHD from http://www.elementaltechnologies.com/products.php becomes available. That will open the floodgates.
