Hi Lads,
I have ripped some of my DVD's and put them on a SATA HDD. I have the SATA HDD connected to my PS3 so I can watch them. All my DVD's bar one will play fine....But 1 of them, Casino Royale, will play but with no audio....I have checked the properties of all the DVD's that play fine - the audio codec is Dolby Digital 384 kbps, but the Casino Royale says Linear PCM... I am using HDMI.
When Ripping all my DVD's, using DVD Shrink, none of them had an option of LPCM, not even the casino royale dvd.... how do i either convert the sound on casino royale from LPCM to Dolby Digital like the others have or is their a setting on the PS3 that can make me hear the audio.
very annoying.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Something must surely be in error here. LPCM is completely valid for DVD, but it can only be 2 channels. Multichannel LPCM is only valid for DVD Audio and high def formats like BluRay and HD DVD. LPCM is generally not used on DVD (exceptions are some music videos) as it takes up a lot of space.
There's some weird copy protection stuff on Casino Royale. Your problem is most likely that you did not use the proper tool to rip it. Try using DVDFab HDDecrypter or whatever it's called. It's free and it can deal with Casino Royale. DVD Shrink is NOT recommended to rip with. It hasn't been updated in a very long time and it probably can't handle the copy protection scheme that Casino Royale uses.
