Has anyone had success in converting a downloaded stream from ustream.tv to avi?
I tried about every programm, and not succesfull. I tried total video, everything. The flv file was 320 MB
I even tried using flv extract. So that it can extract the audio and video atleast from the flv, and i can import it to virtaual dub, But i get an error saying (unsupported Nellymose audio)

Does it work in vlc media player? You can then use it to save as another format, under file->wizard and open the flv and choose video and audio codecs.
-
It plays with sound of FLV Player.
But when i play it on vlc. It plays video, but no sound -
Hmm...
I'm download some wideo file from ustream.tv.
Not audible sound:
- VLC,
- SMPlayer (but other builds MPlayer (Sherpya, Celtic Druid) not have this problem)
- some DS player and FLV Splitter + ffdshow (odd... because same version FLV Splitter build in MPC)
Audible sound:
- The KMPlayer
- Media Player Classic
Can't correct transcoding used FFmpeg and MEncoder (+ some GUI's).
(But, after using FLVMDI maybe...)
FLV Splitter + ffdshow > Avisynth script
Unfortunately... "File "C:\script_name.avs" does not have a video stream".
The KMPlayer and 'capture' video - almost, but still not correctly.
VirtualDub + FLV input plugin - odd FPS and of course no sound (only MP3 is supported).
Avidemux - can't open this file (hang on).
Well...
I'm open this FLV file in Media Player Classic and save to DSM container (File > Utils > DSM Converter);
installed Gabest DSM Splitter;
create simple Avisynth script
Code:DirectShowSource("c:\some_file_from_ustream_tv.dsm",fps=15,convertfps=true)
ffdshow video and audio decoders is used.
It looks good.
Only one problem. I'm can't determine FPS. I'm just guess.
FLV Extract show only average frame rate (8,0983 for this specific downloaded file) and not show true frame rate.
Other tools can't determine FPS.
Hmm... GSpot show 9.277 (maybe true, maybe not...).
[EDIT]Add some info's... -
Placio. I opened it in virtualdub, but when i click on save as avi. I get an error message saying "VirtualDub" has crashed
-
it was my audio compression settings, and video setting, But now the audio is out of synch with the video
Can u tell me exactly whats your video compression settings and your audio compression settings -
hmm before i converted it on virtualdub, i played it, and the audio with video was out of synch, so i think its the dsm, thats out of synch, Anyway to fix this?

BTW
You use actual DSM Muxer build?
And try set FPS detected by FLV Extract and/or GSpot? -
On gpsot it said this for F/s
6.316
so i added that on the avs file , and still plays out of sync
I use DSM Muxer Build?. For The DSM. i downloaded that DSM splitter file. and placed the .ax file in my windows directory, and just registered the file -
It saved as avi, but still the audio is out of sync with video
For video settings i chosed Mpeg=4 ASP (lavc)
For audio setting i chosed
MP3 (Lame) -
Yes.
Avidemux can open Your specific file and can decode audio.
But FPS is still problematic (VFR?).
And can play Your specific file in DirectShow (latest FLV Splitter and ffdshow) - change to DSM is unneccessary.
Can recompress used Avisynth script, but... FPS is still problematic.
I'm not have idea at this moment, how to determine FPS this specific file.
Still 'out of sync' A/V. -
Placio did you get my pm? I messaged you the video file to see if you can convert it right
-
Yes. I'm get PM, download this file and try few different ways to transcoding. But, still with 'out of sync'.
BTW
VFR - variable frame rate.
[EDIT]
After read land post... it not work for me. From simple reason - i'm don't have Flash Player ActiveX Control. Well, this tool just not running. But, as i'm remember it's not just converter - it record screen and after this transcode huge temporary uncompressed file to proper video file. Similar way... just use CamStudio or other screen recorder. -
moyea flv to video converter.
it's not free, but after trying literally 10 of these programs, it was the only one that could convert a ustream flv to a format that would open up in premiere pro. also, have you tried ustream's online converter in your "my videos" page?
http://chris.pirillo.com/2007/05/14/convert-flv-flash-video-and-audio/ -
The video was never saved. I was recorded it when someone was streaming live
I tried Moyea FLV. it does the same thing to the rest of the programs. The audio gets out of synch with video
Would u like to try and see if you can convert it? The flv file is 300 MB -
how bout just getting the whole audio out? anyway to do that, to just extract the audio . SO i can use windows movie maker, and aligin the audio with video?
-
any1 know a program that can screen record and audio, and that doesnt require a sound card. .cause i dont got one on my pc

But recorded video is large - i'm don't have enough space on hard drive at this moment for all video.
Or...
Hmm... i'm try used VirtualDub with DirectShow input plugin (+ of course latest FLV Splitter and ffdshow).
Result looks good - A/V synchro. -
i have seen, a few files with FLV ext, that are really SWF files not flv and there are differences
SWF files can contain more elements, 'other files', even though this one may only contain ONE muxed video stream, it will have frames and scenes, something a regulat video editor is NOT expecting and can't handle
most likely the first time , maybe this time when you encountered such a file, you were prompted to update your flash player plugin, and you clicked yes ( just like i did ) so you me and everybody else, doesn't realize the switcheroo, being used to protect content, until you try to convert the file, and it won't convert
trying renaming the file 'myfile.swf' and open it in a swf decompiler and extract the video segment
an example of this is the ironman FLV on the ironman promo website
if you use unplug or some other tool, it shows this large embed FLV, it can be saved/DLed
BUT video convertors cannot corectly convert it or edit it
the file is really a SWF file with multiple elements, I renamed it, then opened it in sothink swfdecompiler and was able to extract the video files -

Your post is good for convert SWF files, but...
(I'm know other way - without payable tool.)
And SWF Decompiler can't open FLV files (only SWF)... -
I was saying the file MIGHT NOT be an flv file, it might be a swf that had the ext changed
and provided the ironman website example,
if you use a tool to save the file( from ironman ) it will tell you its flv and save it with an flv ext, its on the website with an flv ext, but its really a swf file and the newest version of flash player plays them with out telling you they are swf thats been renamed
it like some avi's you DL and they are not avi but MKV with the ext changed -

the tool was unplug, a firefox plugin for savinng emebeded flv flies
from video sites like you tube
and yes it is directly related, IF the Dled file is NOT really flv
when anybody visits a website the video is played in the browser, the flv file is played by the adobe flash plugin, so the update plugin will play a disguised swf ( a swf with flv ext ) and you the user don't know this
check it out the file ext says FLV, it opens in your browser BUT it is interactive and not FLV, go ahead save it and try to edit it or convert it
