    hello guys.
    i want to add to my video a text effect, that the text is being written letter by letter with a suitable sound (not typewriter, but something more modern).

    i gave the example of xfiles, if u know what i mean (the date or the name of the location that u see in every episode).
    i work in premiere pro.

    sorry for my bad english

    The sound you will have to put together yourself in an audio editor. The text might be something the built-in titling software can do. Have a look at the features and browse the help file. The effect is sometimes called "type on".

    You might also have a look at this : http://wrigleyvideo.com/videotutorial/tutdes_handwriting.htm which is for a hand-writing effect, but could be adapted to work with any text

    There are plenty of free sound effects around. Google is the quickest way to find them.

    These are just the first few that Google returned for me

    Just a thought, Subtitle Workshop 2.51 can generate a type effect.
    Edit->Subtitles->Effects->Type Effect.

    Courier font for typewriter; any other font for something more modern. Typewriter or computer keyboard sound effects are easy to find. Use Premiere timeline edits to pop up one letter at a time in rapid succession. It is not very time consuming unless you have LOTS of text.
