I'm using VLC media player and Crystal Player. Both lastest versions.
In VLC the image is perfect with no need for any adjustment. But in Crystal Player and also in Windows Media Player 9, i get the same dark and oversaturated image. And I can't correct it with the player's controls, even at lowering colour and setting a higher brightness the image looks still awful.
I was going to upload a screenshot of both players to show you the difference but when I took the screencap... the image was perfect! In the player, I get the horrible image, and when I capture it, in the file it shows fine.
I was using the lastest version of DivX. I thought it might be the codec, so I uninstalled it and installed ffdshow, but nothing changed.
A month ago I installed the lastest drivers of nVidia, before I was just using the ones that came with windows. I can't recall it exactly, but I think it might have somehing to do.
Any ideas?

It's an overlay / hardware acceleration problem so you must change the color and brightness settings in your video card settings, usually under control panel->display->settings->advanced and try find it there.
