Hi,
I have a strange issue that I'd like some advice. I have some DVDs that were created by recording TV shows using my Liteon DVD recorder. I used to always play them back on the same machine (Liteon) without issue.
Now I have started to use an olidsh (5 years old) JVC and after one or two second of "normal picture" the TV starts to show two images (maybe the interlaced images) side by side on the same screen.
Any ideas where to start. Normal DVDs (i.e. store bought) are fine, it is just the DVD recorded ones (they look fine on a PC and on the original machine).
Perhaps it is a case of progressive vs interlaced? Any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks,
lmcnlcy

I don't think it's a interlaced problem. The old player may have some problems with burned media. Maybe you could try copy the recording to a different dvdr media.

I have a JVC player of about the same vintage. For the most part, it does a good job, but every now and then, I'll burn a disc it won't play at all - just acts as if there's not even a disc in the machine.
None of my other players do this, so I've written it off as "squirreliness" specific to the machine. You might be seeing something similar.
