    hi folks,
    anyone know the best program for this task...
    i'm editing a video of a live gig, and i want to zoom in on certain parts of the stage..

    Seriously - the best tool for this is the camera, while recording. After the fact it will only end in tears.

    That said, any half-decent editor can do it - Vegas, Premiere, Media Studio all have tool to do this. Virtualdub could also be used, or avisynth. However, no matter which way you cut it, it is going to look like a digital zoom.

    You might try cropping with virtualdub, saving it to a lossless codec, then using video enhancer to do the blow up. It will take a while, but the quality might be better.
