    i get those gray lines everytime i capture. why is that happening?

  2. Looks like a bug in the codec. What compression format is it? Incorrectly encoded or decoded DV can create things like that.

    well, i use arcsoft totalmedia to capture it. doesnt let me choose a compression. after i finished capturing the show, it had those lines. i encoded the mpeg-2, compressed it with xvid.

    what type of capture program should i use to capture? and what codec should i use to compress? i tried virtualdub, always crashes my system when i start it. any other good ones?

    Not sure if I missed it, but where are the details according to capture device in use ?

    It may not be "software" related, so supply those other details, or people will be second guessing the problem.
