I have a laptop, but it's not one of the souped up ones that have video-out jack to save whatever videos you have on your screen to a file. I wanna get one of those, but for now, is there any other way to do this? In a related subject that i posted about a few months ago, i was asking about saving tv shows to disc from ABC.COM, and someone said they hooked up their laptop with a video-out connection, and saved the shows that way.

Anyone know a device that would allow that? Something tells me that it would be an easier task using a desktop computer, since you can throw in a video card to accomplish this.

If you are asking about streaming video off the net, then look to our Video Streaming Forum. Or look to our 'Tools' section,

If it's video from a source like a VCR or satellite or other outside source, you might look into a USB capture device. Some from Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Description=usb+video+capture
