Region Free possibility for Philips HTS3164/12 available???

Hello!

I would like to buy the DVD Home Entertainment System HTS3164 from Philips. As I have DVD's from all regions, I would need it to be code free. Does anybody know how to decode it or where I can by it already code free??

While most Philips models can be made region free, specialty units are often locked and not hackable. (specialty units being DVD/VHS combos, home theater systems, automobile systems, etc.).

A quick google search didn't reveal any information, so it doesn't appear this unit is hackable. You are generally better off buying everything seperately anyway. That way, any particular piece or component can be replaced/upgraded without buying a whole new system.

It's just for a second home. Looking for something affordable. Otherwise, I had the Panasonic SC-PT460 in mind, which I can get region free in GB. But as I have a Philips TV ...
