It will if the guest doesn't have admin rights.

I did all the malwarebytes etc, every anti-malware program suggested here but still getting the indications. I suspect the computers at work might be dodgy because I take stuff on a USB from mine to work to print on the laser printer there, and the virus could be just going to and fro. So I was thinking if USB's are so suseptable to viral infections, and I'm going to re-format, is it a good idea to go back to the traditional CD-RW for transfering stuff instead of the USB, as the CD-RW is not suseptable to transfering infections ? The CD-RW is safe, as opposed to the USB in these cases, right ?

While I am not aware of any malware using CDs as a vector it certainly can be done. All thats needed is for the PC set to autoplay and the CD set to launch the malware. Of course if you make the CD yourself you are unlikely to create one with an autorun to virus.

Many USB drives do have autorun firmware. If you don't need the autorun U3 functions get the cheap ones. I think the cheap ones don't, at least mine don't.

Now I know why Fry's is freaking about USB drives. I thought it was fear of employees stealing data despite the near total like of confidential data on the PCs strewn throughout the store.
