A good free dvd editing tool

I'm looking for a free and easy to use video editor. In my work, I sometimes have to take a dvd recording (from a home dvd recorder unit) and quickly edit out sections of the video and then reburn the remainder it back to a dvd that can be played on a standard dvd player. It needs to be easy and quick to use and not take a computer with mega horsepower.

Do you want to keep the menus?

If you don't want menus you can use the free dvd shrink in the reauthoring/edit mode. You can also use videoredo tvsuite($) or tmpgenc dvd author($) to edit and burn a new dvd with new menus.

If you want to keep the menus it's more difficult but it's possible using for example vobblanker (click on it for guides).
