    friends

can not see any subtitles when try to preview them with ffmpegx
all are .srt subs, that work perfectly well in VLC but don't when I try to burn them
the only way I can see them is changing the name of the subtitles file to the same of the movie
although encode them and burn the dvd but subs aren't there

I delete the program that syncs subs and .avi to see if something changes but everything keeps the same

    any clue?

hope the problem is as stupid as it sounds

    thanks a lot

If you encode a DVD with selectable subtitles, then the subtitles set to "off" by default, so you should have to turn them on with your remote, or the subtitle feature of a software player.

    Could that be it?

the main problem is subs don't show even in ffmpegx preview, before burning the dvd

Are you using the right Preview button in the Filters Tab? That is, the one in the lower right corner, just above 'Encode' (and not the Preview button in the upper right corner)?

Yes, I'm sure is the right one.
I burn subtitled movies almost every day, something happened, I can't preview the subs now. Probably some preference I've changed, something like that.

Have you checked the .srt file by opening it in a text editor? Does the formatting look like any other .srt file, e.g. like one that did encode right in the past?

The Preview function should work right with just about any setting, so I would suggest looking more closely at the subtitle file itself.

    Once more you're right

I've just downloaded from other site and everything worked fine. The curious thing is it happened twice in a row with different films. Anyway, s*** happens.

    Thanks for caring Case.
