I am using Media Player Classic with CoreAVC 1.7.0.0.0 - AC3 filter

When playing MKV file it starts off ok but as soon as their is a scene change the audio goes out of stnc, also when the sound in the movie goes up the sound starts stuttering and stays like that onwards. If i jump foward through the video file it stays insync for awhile then does the above again.... Not sure if it`s just the computer spec...

What's the resolution of the MKV?

    Have you tried other files?

1280X528 with DTS audio. Yeah general AVI files are ok. The AC3 filter on the MKV file lets the audio play `as is` Screen resolution is 1920x1200
I have kept it in the box of it`s resolution but now after playing high movement the picture starts playing like a slide show while the sound plays as normal, thing is it never stops after it starts same with the sound once it plays loud and starts stuttering it never stops.. Not sure if the data rate to high for the PC or a not flushing the buffer problem, if it has a low audio and movement part it plays ok for at least 10 minutes.....

I think your system might be right on the cusp of being fast enough, but fast movement creates a A/V desync. Might be time for the new CPU/Mobo combo if you're going to be doing this a lot.

Once last thing to consider - turn off deinterlacing in CoreAVC. That'll save a few CPU cycles.
