  1. Has any one can suggest how to capture movie from DV Camcorder to PC with Date & time printed on DV Camcorder Tape (without any change)? If so, which tool is good to use, I tried couple of tools, nothing helps me out.
    thanks,

  2. Only just got first camcorder so take my advice with a bag of salt.
I think the date/time info that you see in the viewfinder/flip screen is the equivalent of an on screen display that a video recorder does, it does not appear on your final output. Just output your dv cam to a tv to test - if the date and time do not appear then the firewire transfer is unlikely to show it either. There is probably an option somewhere to enable this output, but that ofcourse depends on your particular camcorder, so get those instructions out again!
    Good luck.

  3. Thank you for your response. My camcorder is SONY DCR-TRV 820 and tried all the option for date and time, but no luck. Can any one provide in-depth detail to capture movie from this camcorder to PC with date and time?
    thanks,

Firstly does your instructions say that you can have the date and time? if so, and you can not make it work yourself, then ask for help from the shop you got your camera, or email SONY support for help.
If your camera does not have this function ( which I doubt) then you can have the date inserted by using some encoding, authoring programs.
