    HI,

I am wanting to use on a Portable DVD player that definitely plays Divx a few different types of files.

I have folders named as such in thsi 3.5GB file selection I want to burn..

    MP3 files 1 (with MP3 files)
    MP3 files 2
    MP3 files 3
Audio (with other MP3 files in it)
CSS Tutor (with divx.avi files that work on desktop)
Video ( With more divx.avi video)
    Olympix ( many jpg files)

I use Nero 8 and whilst it burns just divx avi files okay which the player reads and all the rest separately \, I can't get it to read when i have them all on the selection.

I have burnt as a DVD Data multi session and NO multi session but the player says.. unknown disc.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks

    You're still using Nero 8 instead of ImgBurn/Prassi ONES/cdrecord.

In order to burn a Divx video that will play on most players, you have to observe a few guidelines. I borrowed this from a post jman98 made about what won't usually work with a set top player:

If it's used during encoding, it probably has 3 warp points and no standalone DVD player at this time appears to support that. Despite some claims to support it, I've seen reviews where 3 warp point GMC was tested and it always failed.
    2) QPel (Quarter Pixel)
    3) Packed bitstream.
    4) Resolutions greater than 720x576.
    5) Video bit rates higher than 2000 Kbps. With some Divx playback chips, if your audio is anything other than MP3, you may have to drop the video bit rate as low as 1400 Kbps or you may have audio playback problems.
If your AVIs have any of the above, you might need to modify/recompress them before they'll play on your player.

I would also leave Nero out of the operation, though it usually burns data DVDs with no problems.

To make compatible Divx files easier, use a program like AutoGK. You can also try a program like AVI ReComp to make your AVI type file compatible.

I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to do. It sounds like you are trying to create a mixed media data DVD. If so, I could see problems with most set top or portable players.

If all you are wanting to do is to burn your files properly to a DVD, I would also recommend ImgBurn.

Also, not all players will see all formats at the same time. I have a Pioneer player in a cupboard somewhere that happily plays mpg video, mp3 audio and jpg stills from CD or DVD, however it will not see all of them, even if they are in the same folder. if you want to play mpg files you have to tell it that is what you want, and that is all you will see. Tell it you want to play mp3 audio, and it will show you only the mp3 files. It is a stupid design, but not uncommon, even amongst newer media players. Perhaps you have to tell your player what to look for.

Thanks.. I have been using SUPER to convert the flvs and regular AVI's to Divx and they all work fine but it is just when i put them all on the same DVD.

Yes it looks like I am best at the moment to put the avis on one, jpgs on another mp3's on another.

As far as the jps go, I have 3000 of them in different folders and most named 10000.1.jpg etc so I can't put them all in the same folder.

What is the best way to DVD these? Maybe each folder a chapter I guess, although I have 40 folders.

    Thanks thus far guys..

You could get a mass renaming tool and rename them so they don't clash. There are plenty of free toosl to do this.
