I'm just curious as to what people feel the best settings are in order to create a excellent DivX copy... Please also specify the codec used in your replies... Many Thanks...

ok, well I created a DivX rip of Rush Hour2 the other day onto 1 cd at 1006 kbps. The running time was 86 mins approx using DivX 4.2 Results weren't very good. The video seemed to stall slightly every few seconds. Is it too much to expect a 1 cd rip to look great?? This after all is what DivX seems to have been raved over for.. I have downloaded a 2 hour version of American Beauty off the net which is only 30 Mb bigger than my effort (680Mb approx) and looked better. I think this was using DivX low motion codec. Any more thoughts or ideas???
Btw Baker, you didn't mention what codec you were using
p.s for whatver reason I think my resolution was 480 x 208...
