I sincerely hope that help is at hand, I have been unsuccesful in solving a dvd burning issue, stick with me please, I'll give you the background then the fault codes etc...

I bought an HP Pavilion media laptop with Vista Home Premium with the main intent of use to make and author my dad's 60th birthday holiday to Hong Kong. This was in October and I have not burnt a single dvd. I have been successfull in editing all the footage and creating 13 seperate wmv's using movie maker which I am happy with. When I try to use DVD Maker to publish the DVD it stops working. I have also tried Roxio which came with it, this also fails with the same fault.

Can someone please help me, HP and Microsoft have been useless!? Below are the problem signatures.

I hate to sound like a desperate man but I am getting to that point, the product I bought is not fit for purpose but I must make this DVD. Could someone please help solve this stack hash? problem or point me in the direction of a programme that will work and create a DVD, menu's and all, that looks good and works.

Thanks in advance, sorry if I'm ranting, please help!

Trying to create a DVD from WMV files (if that is indeed what you are attempting) is a CRAZY workflow. You should have output your edited footage to mpeg or even the incredibly hard drive consuming "uncompressed avi" first.
And stop using DVD Maker and anything by Roxio for DVD work. Just because WMV worked as an (or only)output format in one application that you tried does NOT mean that it is workable as DVD footage.

    Thanks for your response.

Windows vista comes with windows moviemaker which outputs files as windows media video which i added to windows dvdmaker to publish to dvd. I must be foolish for thinking there was a commonality there.

I shall publish my films from moviemaker in another format and try that. I was hoping someone could shed some light on the stackhash fault.

    Thanks again
