  1. If you have no audio (or don't care about audio sync) you can use the top portion of the frame rate dialog. Set the frame rate to 29.97 fps. This will simply slow the playback down. You will see all the frames of the original video, just a tiny bit slower. Audio will slowly drift out of sync. After an hour the audio will be 3.6 seconds ahead of the video.

If you need to maintain audio sync you should use the center portion of the dialog, the "Convert to FPS []" option. To convert 30 fps to 29.97 fps 1 frame out of every 1001 will be dropped. This can cause a visible jerk if that dropped frame is in the middle of a smooth motion. But the audio will remain in sync.

Thank you, I’ve chosen the second of the two options because it’s actually a kind of music video and I need to maintain it in sync. There is one visible jerk on a smooth motion. But that’s Ok, not a big deal. I can’t check the video on a HDTV now, but I assume it’s fine (looks Ok on non-HD TV). Looks like I’m all set now, thank you for help! That was too much problems for just 4 min of amateur video, wasn’t it? At least for me...
