I have an AM/FM audio receiver and a cassette dubbing unit that used to be connected and worked fine. I moved and we disconnected everything a few years ago. I want to use it and don't know which wires go where. In addition, once I get that working I want to add on my portable MP3 player and the wireless speakers and its transmitter. It works off the microphone plug, I think. Is there some standard that says the yellow plug goes here and the white one, here, etc? I have the model numbers but couldn't find anything online that describes exactly where each plug/wire goes in relation to the other unit. Many thanks if you can help me with this!

I am assuming you have a "dubbing" cassette deck - two tape drives, one play and one play/record. On the back of the cassette deck there should be stereo jacks for record and play. They should be marked left and right. If it does not indicate left and right but uses colours then red is right and white is left. Using 2 sets of RCA stereo patch cables (2 plugs at each end) connect "Tape In" on the reciever to "Play" on the cassete deck - right is right and right is red - then connect "Tape Out" on the reicever to "Record" on the cassette deck - once again, right is right and right is red...let me know how that goes and then I will help with the Ipod.
